The Cleft of Dimensions continues to be probably the best MUD that
currently exists.
Do you have a favorite video game? Do you have a soft spot for an old
SNES RPG? There's a good chance we have content based on it. The game
world is an amalgam of areas from all sorts of sources. And I really
do mean all sorts: Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, Metroid Prime, Mega
Man, Earthbound, Secret of Mana, Ocarina of Time, Tactics Ogre - even
Harvest Moon and River City Ransom.
Do you want to jump on goombas? Maybe you'd rather immolate them with
lava or bombard them with meteors instead. You could always make them
hit themselves in their confusion. Then again, why fight the goombas
when you could enslave them into an army? If that doesn't work out,
you've got this motorcycle you could crash into them. The Cleft has 16
character classes, each with a different playstyle.
But there's more to the Cleft than game references and goomba
stomping. We have a world full of secrets to discover and treasures
to claim. Quests involving tricky fights and trickier puzzles, not
just "i vant you to keel seex snow moose." Bosses who will knock
your socks off and make you wish you'd brought spares. We have lots
of content with lots of depth, and even if you consider most MUDs
tedious, shallow grinds, I think you'll find satisfying gameplay here.
