Project Tuna Update
Project Tuna has been updated to version 0.7, which corrects a number of output bugs. You will need the Java Runtime Environment to use it, though.

New Class! Dancer is in!
Dancer: Bewitch and beguile your foes into killing themselves so you can take their stuff.
Diva: Demand enemies give you their stuff, then kill themselves for your entertainment.
Gypsy: Cheat at games to win peoples' stuff, with their lives as the ante.
Dancers are now in! Thank you to everyone who beta-tested (Synthian, Synesthesi, Mirrorb). Please feel free to continue playing your Dancers and test the evolutions. I will reward you for your level 30 reviews as well as your level 60-65 subclass reviews. Please continue to report bug fixes (this goes for all players), and I will reward you if you decide to post a thorough Dancer gameplay review in the forums. Anclea's post "A Wealth of Geomancers" is an excellent example.

January Updates

Christmas Week Bonus XP
From December 25 through January 1, all players will receive XP-And-A-Half (that's 50% bonus experience points) on everything they do.
Been putting off gaining some levels? Christmas vacation is the time to do it!
As far as game updates:
- Not everyone can Pick a doors and containers open now, only people who actually have the Pick Lock skill.
- The Infuriating flag on an exit now makes it extremely difficult to pick a lock. (previously did nothing)
- A mysterious !Shield! message is gone.
- You can no longer Steal from mobs more than five levels below you - this prevents farming newbie areas for loot
- Runic works against some mobs' special attacks.
- overpower's damage is now proportional to the strength of your wielded weapon
- mobs can walk and chew bubble gum at the same time (mobprogs no longer prevent movement)
- autoassist is on by default
- the bug (and related bugs) causing negative hitroll from Bless are probably fixed
- Wildcasting would sometimes crash the game instead of poisoning you -- oops.
- The runic/choke bugs with some monsters' special attacks have been fixed.
Also, Geomancers are now selectable at character creation.

Also,
- The 'help prompt' file has more cool things for you to use.
- The mysterious %B in a prompt now no longer bugs out
- The 'Detect Magic' flag now allows you to see how much Mana a mob or other player has. Mobs with 0 mana don't show anything here. This is probably useful for targetting Osmose and Drain spells.
- The Esuna spell will now work more often, and has had its cost reduced from 140mp to 100mp.
- Life Support's extra MP draining was bugged since I used UMAX where I should have used UMIN.
- Soulblade can be cast on a weapon the same level as you now (rather than only lower)
- Using Nurse on a target in the same room now also activates its cooldown
- you can now change your wielded weapon, shield, or held item while wielding a secondary weapon
- new characters get more (and longer lasting) candles and bread
- bug fixed with sporadic blank lines appearing in combat
- elemental sabers no longer do damage if your target dodged your attack
- lordofwar now lets you do full (rather than half) damage with all weapon types
- the =MORE= =BLOOD= message on a player kill no longer shows up for people in the same room as the kill
- compatibility bugs fixed with CMud, GNOME Mud, and the Vista telnet client
- affect pulses are now 50% faster, aligning them with combat pulses. What does this mean? Many affects now will appear to have longer durations under "affects" but will last the same amount of time. Poison and plague do damage faster, and Rabite Rainstorm and Detonate trigger sooner. Skills like riposte and circle will not mysteriously fail 1/3rd of the time. Additionally, skills that are supposed to last a specific number of combat rounds (like Indignation) will always last the correct number of rounds.

- wholist formatting has been tightened and maximum title length has been correspondingly increased
- warrior styles have been changed: gladiators now get wrestling and aikido (which now provides non-defensive counterattacks even while outside of defend), and warlords get the new styles Hylian Fencing and Lobsterman Eskrima.
Capoeira and breakdancing have been removed and will become quest skills. Help files to follow.

- ALL mobs in Mcneil woods have been re-balanced; there are only two that aggro players, now.
- Teepo was not dropping a particular object when defeated like he should have been -- this
made a mini-quest in McNeil woods impossible to complete.
- Many talk progs in Mcneil woods have been revised to be easier to read!

- Newbies no longer get the defunct Recall skill; recall has always worked without any regard to
this skill.

bought) most are the same as they've been right now, however.
- Small grammar fixes in a couple spell echoes.
- Forgot to say; there is now an extra2 'antimob' flag which prevents mobiles or pets from
wearing those items.
- Rocket Town now has a mining shop
- The Neko in Frosty Forest has had his inventory changed slightly
- 'unwear' is now a synonym for 'remove'
- Attempting to wield a 2-handed weapon will automatically remove any held or shield or dual-wielded item you have.

Patch notes
- Newbie candles last about ten times longer. The ones you can buy/steal are unchanged.
- Skills improve slightly faster with use all over
- Low-INT characters will find it significantly easier to improve their skills with practice.
- Everyone gets at least 2 pracs per level-up. Nobody gets more than 5.
- Monsters in Guardia Fields have been re-worked and re-balanced. They might look a little more familiar, too.
- 'gold' is now ALSO a synonym for 'money' etc
- Some of the 'You are kind' etc alignment messages on Score were mis-formatted to the wrong lengths.
- Scan/info now shows wearlocations
- Fixed a bug when using sizeup on or by lobsterman players.
- 'report offense' shows your average melee damage. You can 'order' pets and charmies to do this too, by the way.
- 'attack down' was working backwards, oops
- food halved by Ration will have its COST also halved now
- a mini-area named Gray Havens has been linked near the east end of Luon Highway. no elves, though.
- Your Recall point can now be set to Shrike for 100 gold by .. someone.
- Some old characters could not log in; this is now fixed.
- The 'Where' display is a little improved.
- The password prompt when logging in now says 'Welcome back!' so that it's more obvious that you're trying to log in as an existing character.
- Dr. Saturn can now offers cash-for-heals services as Selan, Caithness, etc.
- New weapon flag, WEAPON_TRACER. This flag stacks hitroll on the wielder whether it hits or misses.
- Scan/Info now shows the MAXIMUM number of charges on wands/staves

Enhanced accessibility!
- The 'Info' command, used with no argument, now gives you explicit details on the shop you're in.
- Shopkeepers and bankers will no longer steal your 'reply' target
- Dirt Kicking can be used even if the target is already blind, refreshing the existing Blindness affect.
- Typo in one of Tornado's echoes
- The game understands that if you type 'Notes' you probably want to read some notes, instead of going 'huh?' until you typed just 'Note'.
- Life Support's extra mana draining maxes out after the eighth casting, instead of continuing indefinitely
- ACT_THIEF mobs know Smokescreen at 75% (+/- 25% depending on other flags)
- ACT_WARRIOR mobs know Shield Block at 75% (see above)
- ACT_MAGE gives mobs a -5 to saves on spawning
- Mob stats are no longer affected by.. anything, and are flat 13 across the board always. (This will make most mobs an insignificant bit weaker.)
- Most mobs no longer know Shield Block
- Armor Golems learn Shield Block when Junction Spirit'd (they still learn Defend this way too)
- The Weather display gives you NUMBERS on current wind/sky in case you don't understand the textual message
- 'Look sky' shows you the weather too
- Mobs no longer give a dang about equipment weight; any mob can wear any item that isn't restricted (by race, level, or alignment)
- Softened the character creation process; invalid names now tell you WHY
- 'Coins' is not a synonym for 'Money', 'Worth' etc (I saw someone type this)
- Shops' Info display will now say 'Nothing' if they don't buy anything
- 'look around' is now valid syntax
- 'rest on bench' 'sleep in tent' 'stand at bar' 'sit at table' etc are all now valid syntax
- Discern can now fail, will improve with practice, and causes a tiny bit of lag. It is, unfortunately, still mostly useless.
- If you are sitting, resting, or sleeping, you will receive a message when your hit points are fully restored, and another when your mana is full too. (thanks sunflash)

- "You don't see that here", "You can't find it", "They aren't here.", "You aren't carrying that" etc are replaced with more sensical error messages
- Spark Imps aren't permanent locust swarms anymore
- You can't Slam repeatedly with a cursed shield anymore; you can't Slam with a cursed shield AT ALL.
- Regeneration is now calculated as a floating-point variable, which then gets rounded, so players won't lose anything to decimal truncation -- this is noticable at very low levels
- The (useless) Gossip channel is Gone
- The (incomplete) Show command is Gone
- The (unused) Auction channel is gone
- WHAT and HolyGuardian (for staff) no longer shows up on the 'channels' display
- Attempting to 'read' a scroll which is not a 'scroll' item type will make you just look at it instead like you might expect
- 'loot' is now a shortcut for 'get all', so 'loot corpse' works
- Several hints are different now, and specific to which town you started in
- attempting to look up a helpfile that doesn't exist now tells you what you looked for that it couldn't find; this can help you realize when you are typoing something
- Small bug with pfile loading - no changes noticable for players, just less clutter in the logs
- Sometimes you would encounter extra red and blue goombas in the Combat tutorial
- Many new helpfiles and additions to keywords on existing helpfiles, too many to remember

Patch notes
- Nice tweaks to weather! The map is more sensible and you will be told when the weather is real bad outside.
- 'wear all' and 'remove all' no longer generate messages if nothing happened
- Envenom wouldn't work if you remorted it. LOL!
- Wizard spells do better damage at very low levels.
- Earthslide was doing about 2/3 the damage it was supposed to.
- Wildcasting would occasionally blind the target. Now it occasionally blinds YOU!
- Palmer shows damage on his specials now
- Event items (cellphones etc) can have a cooldown now like rods
- Wands now 'become useless' instead of 'exploding into fragments'
- Kirbys can now 'eat all'
- Vigilance only lags you half as much if you fail
- removed auction.c since all its functions were orphaned
- removed asciimap.c since all its functions were orphaned too
- removed arena.c since all its functions were orphaned ALSO
- removed marry.c since nobody gets married around here, that's so stupid
- removed all the excessive checking for new_format objects/mobs since we can safely assume they are all new style unless we go crazy and decide to import bad areas from other games :)
- removed do_font because seriously what was that all about
- fixed echoes on soulblade's recoil
- Changed many uninformative 'Ok.' messages to tell you what happened now.
- Removed code attached to unused ITEM_GUN and ITEM_AMMO objtypes
- spec_funs are GONE. This decreases our memory usage significantly
- unused racial xp multipliers are gone, unused 'points' in pcdata are gone
- unused npc 'group' tag is gone, this makes our area files a little smaller too
- Cleaned out all the notes and such that aren't recent, except changes and news, which are historically relevant. This decreased our memory usage by like another eight or nine percent, holy moly
- removed bet.h and arena.h since while they were included in some files, none of their variables or functions did anything
- board.c wasn't even in the makefile (now gone) and it was the only thing linked to colordef.h and board.h (also gone)
- no more drunktalk on ooc
- Summon now fails if the caster is in a norecall room
- some descriptions used by 'weather' have changed
- output changed for when usable items are used up
- HP/MP regen rates have been altered such that a player, while sleeping in a tent, with no status modifications, should heal to full in 2 minutes
- timed pets (such as elementals) no longer poof when their MP maxes out
- if you are wielding a two-handed weapon, you no longer have to 'remove' it before 'wield'ing a one-handed weapon
- 'eat' and 'drink' no longer require MV
- rotdeath items inside containers will actually rot
- 'whowas' will gradually begin to report correct times again
- Comet Punch is accessible to Knights now, and is more difficult to earn
- Tranquility is no longer a quest reward for Geomancers
- Wisp is now a quest reward for Geomancers (related? possibly.)
- Various weapons and armor that were heavier than they should have been are lighter now
- Some items with huge MV penalties had these penalties reduced
- Akahana's quest was changed
- Cellphones are available in Shrike
- A couple of books were added to Viorar Library
- Utensil Wars mobs don't leave corpses anymore
- Battle Arena is now accessible from both Truce and Viorar pier
- Items that work differently now: *Bambino Bombs *Lens of Truth
- Random bug fixes (thanks Xarinth!)
- *Arlia* has been revised and relinked.
- *Gigan Canyons* have been revised and relinked.
- *Gigan Hold* has been revised and relinked, but you probably won't be able to enter without that one thing you needed before.
